Located in the heart of Suzhou’s historic Guanqian Street, this project is a revolutionary reimagining of retail branding. By transforming FamilyMart’s most iconic product—Oden—into a series of mega-sized, "kawaii" IP characters, we have created more than just a store; we have created a "savory landmark" that bridges the gap between traditional convenience and immersive, social-media-driven experiences.
Oden is FamilyMart’s "Super Symbol." Recognizing the high foot traffic of Guanqian Street and the local demand for delicious, fast, and convenient food, we elevated this humble snack into a "Mega-IP" theme park. By over-scaling familiar Oden ingredients into giant, adorable companions, we’ve crafted a high-aesthetic, interactive environment. These larger-than-life characters serve as emotional anchors, deepening the brand’s footprint in the consumer's mind while turning the storefront into a viral, city-wide "check-in" destination.
The design seamlessly blends Suzhou’s local architectural heritage with a modern amusement park aesthetic. The exterior features an al fresco Oden stall integrated with traditional Suzhou-style window lattices, creating a dialogue between the city’s past and its vibrant present. Interactive IP-themed seating areas are strategically placed to encourage social media engagement, inviting passersby to sit, dine, and capture moments with their favorite "Oden buddies."
Extending the concept of "convenience" beyond the storefront, the project integrates the "Mobile Lifestyle" trend. Utilizing advanced Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, the space is powered by a high-capacity mobile energy system. With 220V internal power and a robust 6kW external output, the project demonstrates a new frontier in urban pop-up retail. This "energy hub" supports a full range of outdoor lifestyle equipment—from charging laptops and drones to powering electric griddles, kettles, sound systems, and projectors.
This design is a testament to the power of creative iconography. By combining a "Super Symbol" with traditional local design and cutting-edge mobile energy technology, we have created a versatile, high-energy social hub. It is not just a place to buy food; it is an exploration of how modern retail can provide warmth, joy, and a sense of community in a high-density urban environment.
