Light Me UP!

"Light Me Up ! " constructs an enterable “artificial seascape” through inflatable forms that mimic marine organisms and underwater habitats. As visitors walk through, touch, and inhabit the space, the internal lighting shifts in a breathing rhythm, allowing the installation to appear as if it were a sentient life form—awakening, shimmering, and responding through interaction.

Yet this awakening is not unconditional. The fragility of marine ecology is embedded into the work’s interactive logic: moderate engagement activates its vitality, while excessive intervention causes the light to fade, the structure to deteriorate, and the environment to fall into stillness. In this way, the installation becomes a metaphor for the ocean itself—an ecosystem that nurtures life, but can also be exhausted and diminished by the imbalance of human activity.

By translating environmental concerns into a participatory and embodied experience, the work invites the public to reconsider their relationship to the sea. Human beings are not external observers of ecology, but active agents in its growth, damage, and survival. The glowing lights that emerge in the dark are not only an imaginative evocation of marine life, but also a fragile and urgent signal—a call for greater awareness, responsibility, and protection of the ocean environment.
