Where Is My Container (WIMC) transforms a fragmented support process into a direct, self-service digital experience.
An apparently simple question, such as ‘Where is my container?’, can set in motion a complex operational journey for logistics teams. Users may need to search booking systems, carrier portals, emails, milestone records and internal tools before they can understand a container’s current status. Information may be delayed, incomplete, or difficult to interpret leading to uncertainty, repeated investigations and unnecessary support effort.
WIMC was built to connect this fragmented information into a connected experience.
The solution was developed thru research with dispatch managers, customer-support teams and fleet managers. Research showed users wanted more than a location on a map. They wanted context. Where were they now? Were they moving? What had they been doing? Where had they been? And a clear explanation of why some information wasn’t available or was uncertain.
WIMC lets users start with identifiers they already know, such as a container number or booking reference. From there, they can immediately see its current status, understand the container’s operational surroundings, drill into its journey history and look at related booking information.
The experience is based on 4 moments of clarity: Search, Locate, Understand and View.
Location information is enhanced with motion status, event history, time stamps and geofence context so that users can know not just where a container is but what is happening around it. The connected booking workspace enables users to track several shipments, apply filters, create focused views and save commonly used configurations.
Trust was also viewed as a fundamental design requirement. For cases such as tracking ended, access restricted, unavailable data or system errors WIMC expresses uncertainty thru clear system states.
The result is a self-service experience that provides greater transparency, faster answers and reduced operational uncertainty while reducing the need for repetitive support inquiries and manual investigation.
WIMC is container visibility that is an experience of clarity, trust, and control.
