EconoSense is a mobile-first experience that empowers users to understand how national economic trends impact their personal finances. Designed for underserved audiences—including immigrants, young adults, and those without financial expertise—EconoSense simplifies complex topics like interest rate hikes, inflation, and taxation, translating them into personalized, actionable insights.
The experience begins with a conversational onboarding flow, allowing users to input key life details (e.g., student loans, rent, savings goals). Based on these inputs, EconoSense curates relevant financial news and breaks down its real-life implications. For example, a news headline about a central bank interest rate decision is translated into how it might affect a user's credit card payments, rent, or student loan interest.
By combining financial journalism, UX design, and behavioral science, EconoSense turns abstract data into practical knowledge. The interface is clean, intuitive, and visually digestible, using icons, micro-interactions, and clear typographic hierarchy to enhance comprehension and accessibility.
EconoSense was born out of the realization that while financial news is everywhere, it rarely answers the most important question for everyday people: “What does this mean for me?” With this project, we aim to close the gap between financial systems and everyday life, empowering users to make smarter decisions and feel more confident in navigating their economic reality.
