Monarch Tractor has designed the MK-V, the world’s first fully electric, driver-optional, connected tractor which is commercially available and committed to elevating farming practices that enable clean, efficient, and economically viable farming solutions.
The MK-V’s capabilities allow for cutting down on over 60% of the farm’s expense on fuel and service while addressing climate change. With electrification, we’re saving farmers diesel costs in an economy where the price of diesel continues to skyrocket. With autonomy, we’re elevating a single tractor operator to a remote fleet manager, increasing labor productivity and operational costs.
A fleet of electric tractors enables faster payback for renewables, opens up energy storage opportunities, and promotes energy independence for farmers. For example, by utilizing electric tractors, we saw that some Monarch customers conducting mowing, tilling and disking operations would save more than $79K a year on fuel savings alone. By calculating labor savings, we saw that these farmers could also save at least $120K at 50% automation and as much as $200K at 85% automation. Aside from cost-saving, utilizing the MK-V electric tractor would reduce over 500 tons of carbon emissions.
Farmers today face numerous challenges including labor shortages, effects of climate change, scrutiny for sustainability demands, government regulations, and more. Further to this, agriculture ranks among the most hazardous industries in the U.S. with tractor-related injuries and deaths being a significant contributor.
Designed with these challenges in mind, the MK-V combines electrification, automation, safety features, machine learning and data analysis. The tech enhances existing farming operations to increase efficiency, cut overhead costs and emissions, and elevate labor productivity and safety.
